Regions and AZs

Regions

A region is a different geographic area where physical data centers are located, usually divided based on the city where the physical data center is located.

  • The private network is completely isolated between different regions, ensuring the maximum stability and fault tolerance between different regions.
  • Different regions can communicate through public IP addresses or through a Cloud Enterprise Network for private communication.

Availability Zones

An Availability Zone (AZ) is a physical area within the same region with independent power and network connectivity.

  • In the same region, within the same private network, private communication is possible between different availability zones.
  • Fault isolation can be achieved between different availability zones, meaning when one zone fails, it will not affect other zones, ensuring uninterrupted online operation for your business without being affected by localized faults.
💡
Note: Private network communication refers to communication between resources under the same account. Resources under different accounts are completely isolated in private networks.
