Snapshot
Overview
A snapshot is a backup method. Each snapshot is a backup file of the cloud disk data at a certain point in time. When data is lost or there is a malfunction, you can roll back the cloud disk data through the snapshot to retrieve the lost data.
Snapshot Billing
The snapshot function is free within a limited time. Users don't need to pay for using them.
Scenarios
You can use the cloud disk snapshot function in the following scenarios:
- Daily Backup: You can create snapshots of cloud disks regularly to achieve daily backup of data. When an operational mistake occurs, you can roll back the data through snapshots to avoid data errors or losses caused by human - induced misoperations, hacker attacks, virus infections, and other reasons.
- Improve Fault-Tolerance Rate: When you need to conduct important operation and maintenance operations, such as replacing the operating system, migrating business data, or upgrading application software, you can create snapshots before the operations to improve the fault - tolerance rate.
Precautions
Each cloud disk can create a maximum of 10 manual snapshots and 64 automatic snapshots. The instructions are as follows:
- Manual snapshot: After the number reaches the upper limit, an error will be reported when creating a manual snapshot again.
- Automatic snapshot: After the number reaches the upper limit, the system will automatically delete the automatic snapshot with the earliest creation time.
