Renaming Instances

Operation scenario
On the cloud server console, to facilitate users to manage cloud server instances and quickly identify the name of each instance, it is supported to name each instance. At the same time, the name can be changed at any time and takes effect immediately after the change. Note: The instance name in the platform is only used for quick identification and will not change the hostname of the instance.

Operation steps
Method 1: Ordinary modification
Log in to the cloud server console.
In the left navigation tree, select "Servers" to jump to the cloud server list page.
Operate according to the view mode actually used. For more view information, please see View Instance Information.
List view: In the operation column on the right side of the row where the instance to be operated is located, select "More > Instance Properties > Modify Instance Name".
Detail view: On the page of the instance to be operated, click "All Operations > Instance Properties > Modify Instance Name" in the upper right corner.
In the pop-up window, enter the new instance name and click the "OK" button to complete the modification operation.
Method 2: Quick modification
Log in to the cloud server console.
In the left navigation tree, select "Servers" to jump to the cloud server list page.
Operate according to the view mode actually used. For more view information, please see View Instance Information.
List view: Hover the mouse over the "Instance ID/Name" or "Description" field, and click the "edit icon" when the mark icon appears.
Detail view: Hover the mouse over the "Instance ID/Name" or "Description" field, and click the "edit icon" when the mark icon appears.
In the pop-up window, enter the new instance name and click the "OK" button to complete the modification operation.
