Resetting Instance Password

Operation scenario
If it is the first time to use password for login authentication or in case of forgetting the password, you can reset the login password of the instance on the console.

Prerequisites
Only instances in the "running" state support password reset operations.

Operation steps
Log in to the cloud server console.
In the left navigation tree, select "Servers" to jump to the cloud server list page.
Operate according to the view mode actually used. For more view information, please see View Instance Information.
List view: In the operation column on the right side of the row where the instance to be operated is located, select "More > Password/Key Pair > Reset Password".
Detail view: On the page of the instance to be operated, click "All Operations > Password/Key Pair > Reset Password" in the upper right corner.
In the pop-up window, fill in the username for which the password needs to be reset, the new password and the confirmation password.
After confirming that the information is accurate, click the "Confirm" button to complete the password reset operation.

💡
Tip: If the instance has a key pair bound, after the password reset operation, the system will enable password login.
